The California Leadership Committee finds, trains, and supports candidates in local and statewide races. The Committee targets candidates who know how to work together and solve problems. CLC candidates are leaders in the effort to improve our schools, fix our broken healthcare system, and clean up our environment. They stand for fiscally responsible, innovative solutions rather than tax increases and debt. This Fall the CLC will be hosting a campaign boot camp to help prepare the next generation of California’s political leadership. At the boot camp the nation’s top media consultants, strategists, and advisors will come together to help train CLC candidates. Topics will include budget, staffing, policy, press, debate, and fundraising. Please check back for more details in the coming months.

This is an exciting time to be a Democrat. Last November, we took majorities of both the House and Senate. Here in California, the CLC helped elect Democrats to the Assembly, Senate, and crucial statewide offices.

During the 2006 general election cycle, the California Leadership Committee raised $155,000 and gave to 22 targeted candidates. We were proud to help as part of the tidal wave of change that has swept the nation. Through continued effort we’ll continue doing our part to support a strong Democratic majority in California.

The CLC is currently reviewing upcoming local and statewide races and has set a goal to raise over $350,000 for the 2008 election cycle. Check back for more details in the coming months.
